Going By Bus

Most buses going north or south between Bangkok, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Hua Hin, Chumpon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phattalung, Hat Yai, Songkhla amd Malaysia will use Highway 41 and should stop on request at Wat Suan Mokkh.

 

The trip to Surat Thani will take up to 13 hours from Bangkok, and it's better to arrive early in the morning rather than after dark.

 

First class air-conditioned buses leave Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal daily at 8:00am, 8:20am, and 8:30pm with a fare of 346 baht.

 

Second class air-conditioned buses departure at 9:30am and 8:45pm for 269 baht.

 

There are also VIP buses with more legroom leaving at 7:00pm and 7:30pm with prices from 450 baht to 535 baht.

 

Non-air conditioned buses leave the Southern Bus Terminal at 9:20pm and 11:00pm and cost only 192 baht.

 

Most buses can be booked at any local tour agent.
