Washing Clothes

A mandidorms are large concrete water tanks, or mandis, used to bathe and to wash clothes.

There are plenty of large washing bowls and buckets around the mandis, along with small wooden stools to sit on.

Avoid getting soapy water in the mandis by using the small plastic scoops to scoop water into the bowls or buckets, and don't dip a soapy hand back into the mandi with your scoop.

There is plenty of clothes-hanging space, both in front of most of the individual rooms, and also in the central grassy area, though using the latter isn't always a good idea in rainy season.

Small bags of washing powder can be purchased at the shop.
