At registration you will be asked to sign-up for at least one chore.

Many people sign up for more than one chore, especially on quiet retreats.

These include duties such as wiping the tables in the dining area after meal times, sweeping the leaves from the paths, collecting fallen palm fronds, cleaning out the footbaths, sweeping the walkways in the dorms and cleaning the toilets.

In choosing a chore, there are a few factors to consider:

• Is the chore a quick one or a long one?
• Is the chore one you wil enjoy doing or dislike?
• Will you have to walk a long way to the location of the chore?
• Will there be a need to wait for others before the chore can be done?
• Is it more important to help others by doing the more difficult chores yourself, or is it better to consider yourself?
